近年来,市面上出现了不少新兴商业门店,为城市中的老旧社区带来了一股新的活力。借助当下的移动互联网平台,这些“网红店”消除了地理上的局限,反而带来了一股青年人对旧社区与个性文化碰撞的消费热潮。
In recent years, a wave of emerging commercial shops has injected new vitality into aging urban communities. Leveraging the current mobile internet platforms, these "internet-famous" shops have overcome geographical constraints, sparking a consumption trend among young people, where old communities and individual cultures collide.

这种由商业推动,自下而上的力量也在重新激活着老旧社区。
Join Fun 是一家选址于老社区的新晋烘焙与咖啡品牌,我们受邀设计,也借此机会去尝试商业空间与社区之间的一种更为良性的关系。
This commercially driven, grassroots force is reactivating aging communities.
Join Fun, a newly established baking and coffee brand located in an old community, invited us to design their new shop, providing an opportunity to explore a more symbiotic relationship between commercial spaces and communities.

项目位于佛山禅城垂虹社区的一个旧商业楼底下,在一条主商业街道边缘延申的社区小道上,离主街道约20米。像很多佛山的老居民社区一样,这里也被许多老居民楼包围着,由于物业维护不足,场地周边环境显得有些破败。业主选择这里是因为附近的社区中近年来出现了许多面向年轻人的小店,这些小店散落在主街或者巷子里,初步形成了所谓“网红点”的社区商业片区,本项目选址不在主干道上,租金也自然便宜一点。

The project is situated beneath an old commercial building in the Chuihong community of Chancheng, Foshan, about 20 meters from the mainstreet, along a community lane extending from the edge of the mainstreet. Like many of Foshan's old residential communities, this area is surrounded by aged residential buildings, and due to insufficient property maintenance, the surroundings appear somewhat dilapidated.The owner chose this location because the nearby community has witnessed the emergence of numerous small shops catering to young people in recent years. These shops are scattered along the main street or in alleys, forming a preliminary community commercial area known as "internet-famous " shops. The project site intentionally avoids the mainstreet, and consequently the rent is naturally more affordable.

我们面对的第一个问题就是如何让主街道的人群更容易发现这里。从空间条件来说,在主街道看店铺入口的视觉夹角不算大,除了把服务吧台转角度朝向主街方向之外,要想有较好的对外展示面就需要把店铺往外延展,这也直接引导着我们开始思考第二个问题:店铺与社区的边界关系。
Our first challenge is how to make people on the mainstreet more easily notice this location. Given the spatial conditions, the visual angle of the storefront entrance from the mainstreet is not extensive. Besides orienting the service counter towards the mainstreet, to achieve a better external display area, we need to extend the shop outward.This leads us directly to the second challenge: the relationship between the store and the community boundaries.

场地原状和周边店铺都是一堵玻璃门隔开了室内外,我们选择打破这个边界向社区开放,借用入口台阶作为空间的延申,将户外木地板从室内延申到室外,同时利用台阶创造局部的阶梯式座位(后续的空间使用上业主也将他们门口的自用停车位作为外摆空间),通过植物与家具的置入,我们将这段联通室内外的木平台营造为一个花园。

The original state of the site and neighboring shops all feature glass doors separating the interior and exterior. We choose to break this boundary and open up to the community, using the entrance steps as an extension of space. Extending outdoor wooden flooring from indoors to outdoors and creating stepped seating areas by using the steps, we transform this connected indoor-outdoor wooden platform into a garden by incorporating plants and furniture.

通过这个花园,店铺与社区的边界变得模糊。这种模糊软化了原来生硬的环境,也改善了社区的微观气候——原本略显破败的角落被重新激活,人们愿意走进这条巷子并渡过一段惬意的时光。
Through this garden, the boundary between the shop and the community becomes blurred. This softening of boundaries mitigates the originally harsh environment and improves the microclimate of the community. The once slightly run-down corner is reactivated, encouraging people to stroll down this alley and spend a delightful time.
